Sports 101: From Jags to penalty flags

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson (16) is tripped by Tennessee Titans cornerback Perrish Cox (29) during an NFL football game Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, in Jacksonville, Fla. The teams were outfitted in the NFL’s Color Rush uniforms. The Jaguars and Titans combined for two touchdowns and seven field goals. So much for the rush.

In case you missed them, here are some teachable moments from the last seven days:

▪ The Titans and Jaguars are difficult to watch no matter what color uniforms they wear.

▪ Defense is mostly optional in the Big 12 Conference.

▪ The race is to the fastest, not necessarily the guy who has announced his retirement.

▪ The Warriors will lose eventually, but eventually hasn’t happened yet.

▪ Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and a good way to be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct in the NFL.
