Dusty Baker’s baseball career gave him an up-close look at two of the most historic home runs in the game. In 1974, he saw Atlanta Braves teammate Hank Aaron break Babe Ruth’s career home run record. In 2001, as Giants slugger Barry Bonds’ manager, he watched the outfielder hit a record 73 home runs.

Prep basketball: Woodcreek boys already in playoff mode
Woodcreek has won five straight games, four in overtime. Coach Paul Hayes’ Timberwolves are ranked No. 5 in The Bee’s Top 20. “It’s odd,” Hayes said. “I’ve never played that many overtime games in such a short period of time. I told the kids that the way we keep winning, it says a lot about the character of our team.”
