Sacramento’s Bonney Field will host international rugby match

Bonney Field, home of the USL Republic FC soccer team, will host an international rugby match for the third consecutive year this summer.

The USA Men’s Eagles – the United States’ national rugby union team – will play Russia on June 25, with tickets on sale March 24. Those interested can contact Republic FC at 916-307-6100 or goal@sacrepublicfc.com for more information.

In 2014, the home of Republic FC hosted the first international rugby match in Sacramento when the Eagles beat Canada 38-35. Last year, Bonney hosted a Pacific Nations Cup doubleheader, with the Eagles beating Japan 23-18 and Fiji and Samoa playing to a 30-30 tie.

The Eagles also will play at San Jose’s Avaya Stadium against Italy on June 18.
