49ers: Kelly ready to ‘coach heck out of’ Kap

But as he’s been saying since he took over as 49ers coach, the conversations have centered on Kaepernick’s health and the two have not discussed the quarterback’s desire – or lack thereof – to remain with the team.
49ers: Cal RB Lasco on team’s radar
At last month’s scouting combine, Bears running back Daniel Lasco grabbed everyone’s attention when, at 6 feet, 209 pounds, he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds, leaped 41 1/2 inches in the vertical jump and had an 11-foot, 3-inch broad jump. That last mark wasn’t just the best among running backs in Indianapolis that day. It was the farthest any running back had jumped at the combine in at least a decade.
Furillo: Pac-12 gets respect, now must deliver
For the first time, the NCAA selection committee picked seven Pacific-12 Conference basketball teams to play in the madness of March. This major show of respect by the bracket makers puts the Pac-12 up there with the ACC, Big Ten and Big 12 for most teams in the tournament. Now it’s up to the seven to show the conference deserves the high regard.
Soccer: Ex-Chelsea star Drogba impacts Republic FC
Growing up in the Bay Area, Republic FC defender Emrah Klimenta would climb out of bed early on weekend mornings to watch his favorite team and one of his favorite players. So Klimenta said it’s been a surreal experience training since March 7 with former Chelsea FC star Didier Drogba, who now plays for the Major League Soccer Montreal Impact.
