The pool of quality candidates to replace George Karl as the Kings’ coach is deeper than the Pacific Ocean. The only vacancies exist in Sacramento, Indiana, Memphis, Houston and possibly New York. Kings general manager Vlade Divac must be salivating at the unusually impressive and expansive list.

The Kings’ search for a new head coach took another turn Saturday with the news Memphis coach Dave Joerger had been fired and is scheduled to interview with the Kings on Sunday.
