In case you missed them, here are some teachable moments from the past seven days:

▪ Nyquist proves clean living pays on a muddy Churchill Downs track.

▪ Republic FC had to stop its losing streak sometime, so it may as well have been against one of the hottest teams in the USL – and its chief rival.

▪ The Cavaliers didn’t stick a fork in the Hawks, they stuck a threek.

▪ It probably makes more sense for NBA coaches to rent rather than buy.

▪ The Nationals’ Bryce Harper had a much easier time getting on base than the Yankees did Sunday.
