Kings game plan vs. Brooklyn Nets
KINGS (16-25) VS.
NETS (17-24)
THE PARTICULARS
Where: Sleep Train Arena
Time: 7 p.m.
TV/radio: CSNCA, 950, 1140
THREE KEYS
1. Don’t give it away: The Kings are averaging 19 turnovers during their four-game losing streak. They can’t force the ball via the pass or drives into the defense or throw passes that are easily stolen that lead to easy points for Brooklyn.
2. Don’t play in a hurry: Increasing the pace on offense is fine, but the Kings cannot do that and force bad shots. Rather than drive against two defenders on a fast break and miss a layup, sometimes it’s better to back out and run an offensive set.
3. Late-game execution: The Kings have played well for stretches only to falter late in games. That’s when the offense must be at its best and defensive breakdowns cannot happen. In Monday’s loss at Portland, Damian Lillard split a double team and drove for an uncontested dunk in the final minute.
