Sports Night: NBA hopeful traveled world

Kings: Manny Malou, a draft long shot, played at Yuba College

Manny Malou’s only college experience was his one-plus seasons at Yuba College. But he was one of six players who worked out for the Kings on Tuesday. Long shot or not, he’s enjoying his journey.

Darren Collison arrested in domestic violence case

The Kings guard was arrested Monday at a Granite Bay home. Placer County sheriff’s officials say a female had visible injuries. Collison was released from jail later in the day.

Giants: Peavy almost perfect through seven innings in win over Braves

Jake Peavy may or may not have blown out 35 candles for his birthday, but he blew through the Atlanta Braves’ lineup for seven innings, facing the minimum 21 batters and allowing just one hit in the Giants’ 4-0 win.

A’s: Valencia, Vogt power fourth win in a row

Danny Valencia homers and has three RBIs and Stephen Vogt has three hits and two RBIs as the A’s top the Minnesota Twins for their fourth win in a row.

Republic FC: Team is wary of Kitsap Pumas FC

It’s unlikely Republic FC will overlook fourth-division semipro Kitsap Pumas FC of Bremerton, Wash., in Wednesday’s third-round U.S. Open Cup match at Bonney Field. Midfielder Danny Barrera and coach Paul Buckle will likely make sure of that.
