Sac State women beat Montana State in Big Sky Conference tournament opener
Gretchen Harrigan scored 19 points, and three other players scored in double figures to lead Sacramento State to a 78-62 victory over Montana State on Wednesday in the opening round of the Big Sky Conference tournament in Missoula, Mont.
The Hornets will play the winner of today’s North Dakota-Northern Colorado game in a semifinal Friday at 10 a.m.
The conference championship will be played Saturday at 1 p.m.
Hallie Gennett and Maranne Johnson each scored 12 points and Adella Randle-El added 11 points for the Hornets. Point guard Fantasia Hilliard had a game-high seven assists.
Montana State’s Jasmine Hommes led all scorers with 22 points.
UC Davis 70, Long Beach State 67 in Fullerton – Kelsey Harris sank eight three-pointers to lead the Aggies with 26 points as UCD advanced to the semifinals of the Big West Conference tournament.
