The National Collegiate Athletic Association’s championship series kicks off Tuesday. The Men’s March Madness tournament starts in earnest on Tuesday, March 17. The Women’s Tournament kicks off on Friday, March 20.
The Sacramento Bee went on the search for Sacramento-area bars that are hosting March Madness watch parties as well as sports bars with consistent energy and special deals on drinks.
Here’s what to know:
Tom’s Watch Bar
Tom’s Watch Bar, 414 K St., Suite 180, in downtown Sacramento, is hosting watch parties for the Men’s March Madness tournament play until April 6.
Tom’s Watch Bar also shows NBA, Sacramento Republic FC and NHL games.
Henry’s Lounge
Henry’s Lounge, 2019 O St., in midtown Sacramento, known for sliders and wings will be showing college basketball on their 18 large screen televisions.
The lounge recently won Sacramento’s 2025 Favorite Sports Bar for the third year in a row and continues its commitment to provide sports fans a lively and welcoming environment to cheer for their favorite teams.
Birdie Social Club
At Birdie Social Club, 805 Riverfront St., Suite 100, in West Sacramento, fans can attend the club’s March Madness Watch Party on Thursday, March 19, at 9 a.m.
The social club will have special deals on drinks such as $5 shots, $6 drafts and $8 game day bites.
Barwest Midtown
At Barwest Midtown, 2724 J St., Sacramento, patrons can enjoy watching their favorite teams play on one of the bar’s several large TVs.
The Midtown bar also provides discounted drinks from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday including specials on onion rings and nachos as well as $2 off well drinks, draft beers and wine.
Cheaters Sports Bar
Cheaters Sports Bar, 3221 Folsom Blvd., in East Sacramento, will be showing March Madness games while serving up classic cocktails, draft beers and whatever else is on tap.
The dive bar is known for its clean environment, energetic atmosphere and great deals on drinks.
