The Washington-Cal matchup on Saturday is being billed as a “passing of the torch” game, with one quarterback at the top of his college career, and the other just beginning with plenty of promise.

After dismantling the Bears’ passing records, Cal junior Jared Goff is likely to leap to the pros, with many analysts considering him the top QB prospect in next year’s draft, and some saying he will be the No. 1 overall pick.

Huskies freshman Jake Browning, of Folsom, is just getting started. Pac-12 Network analysts are impressed with him through three games, and Curtis Conway, a former USC and NFL wide receiver, says he’s “the real deal.”
