UC Davis denies report of football coach Ron Gould’s firing

Despite a report by SI.com, UC Davis says football coach Ron Gould has not been fired.

SI.com’s Thayer Evans posted earlier today that Gould had been fired after three seasons.

“There is no truth to it,” Mike Robles, UCD assistant athletic director/athletics communications, said. “I have no idea where that came from. He’s still our head coach.”

The Aggies were 2-9 under Gould this season and 9-25 in his three years as coach.
