Sac State’s Beverly, UC Davis’ Adamson will compete in NCAAs
Sacramento State’s Aaron Beverly, the Big Sky Conference Men’s Golfer of the Year, and UC Davis’ Alec Adamson, the Big West Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Year, advanced to their NCAA Division I championships.
Beverly, a sophomore, is one of five individuals to land spots in the 14-team Tucson regional May 16-18 at the Gallery Golf Club in Marana, Ariz. The top five teams and the lowest invited individual will advance to the NCAA finals May 27-June 1 in Eugene, Ore.
Beverly averaged 71.69 strokes in 32 rounds this season to set a Sac State season record.
Adamson, a junior, is one of 64 singles players to qualify for the NCAA Tennis Championships May 25-30 in Tulsa, Okla.
Adamson, one of 14 automatic qualifiers, is the first UCD men’s tennis player to compete at the NCAA Division I Championships and the first Aggie to be named the conference Player of the Year.
