For the second time in a little more than a year, a local face has been highlighted in a national crowd.

Emilee Hoffman, a sophomore golfer at Texas who graduated from Vista del Lago High in Folsom, was again featured in Sports Illustrated magazine’s “Faces in the Crowd” section.

Hoffman, who also appeared in the SI feature in 2016, was featured as the magazine’s updated profile on Page 21 of the Oct. 9 edition. The article discussed her being part of the United States’ gold-medal team in August’s World University Games in Taipei, Taiwan.

“I like how challenging golf is,” Hoffman told SI. “It is almost unconquerable, but at the same time it can be so rewarding.”

Hoffman shot a 7-under-par 64 for the Longhorns in last month’s Schooner Fall Classic in Norman, Okla. The round tied the school record for relation to par, a mark she set about a year earlier when she fired a 7-under 65 in the Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenville, S.C.
