Bee’s Best: Bradshaw Christian senior wins football Prep of the Week
Noah Darchuk does a little bit of everything for Bradshaw Christian High School football, a mandate for everyone on the roster, really.
The senior takes handoffs. He catches the ball. He makes plays in the secondary, and he can break a game open with a kickoff return, like last week against El Dorado in a big Sierra Valley Conference contest in Placerville.
Darchuk returned a kickoff 96 yards that led to a 36-7 victory over El Dorado last Friday and left the Pride feeling proud of their 6-0 start to the season. He earned Bee Prep of the Week honors through fan voting.
For the season, Darchuk has rushed for 338 yards, averaging 9.7 yards per carry and has scored three touchdowns. His went for 82 yards rushing against Linden and 100 against Middletown. He has made 32 tackles, including nine against Weed and 11 against Ygnacio Valley, and he has two interceptions.
His lone kickoff return this fall? That touchdown against El Dorado. More touches, coach! He has five touchdowns total.
Bradshaw Christian hosts Liberty Ranch tonight, visits Galt next week and finishes the regular season with home games against Union Mine and Rosemont, which should settle the league race.
