Room to spare: Watch Rocklin High beat St. Mary’s with this 37-yard field goal

Video captures Rocklin High School kicker MacGregor TeSelle’s winning 37-yard field goal to beat St. Mary’s of Stockton Friday night 51-48 in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 1 semifinal.

Sacramento Bee staff writer Cameron Salerno caught the field goal and ensuing celebration on camera.

“When they iced me the first time, I thought it was normal,” TeSelle told The Bee. “When they iced me the second time, I took it as disrespect. I wanted to send them packing. It feels great to do it and go to the championship.”

TeSelle kicked the tying field goal two minutes earlier.

“There is obviously going to be nerves, but it’s just going out there and doing what I do. It was nothing new.”

Rocklin plays the Folsom Bulldogs in the Division I championship.
