Prep football: Top 10 area playmakers

Josh Bist, WR, Ponderosa:

At 6-foot-3, Bist is hard to cover. He had 13 catches for 203 yards and three touchdowns against Vista del Lago.

Marcel Brown, RB, Rio Linda:

Brown beat Cosumnes Oaks on the final play with a 70-yard reception, outracing the defense.

Eltoro Allen, RB, Elk Grove:

The Thundering Herd’s fastest player has scored twice on kick returns and can turn screen passes and draw plays into big gains.

Andre Flury, WR, Monterey Trail:

Flury, 5-6 and 140 pounds, is a jet as a deep threat and on special-teams returns; he’s the third and final Flury brother in the program.

Drew Lackowski, RB, Oak Ridge:

Lackowski has scored on screen plays, draw plays and breakaway runs. Plus he anchors the defense as the lone returning starter.

Lonny Powell, RB/LB, Sacramento:

Powell punishes teams with power runs and affects games by rushing the passer; he had four sacks against Vista del Lago.

Justice Shelton-Mosley, RB/WR, Capital Christian:

Shelton-Mosley has had big plays as a runner, a receiver, a passer, in the secondary and on special teams.

Malcolm Thomas, WR/DB, Woodcreek:

Thomas, one of the region’s top deep threats at receiver, has scored on two interception returns.

Cole Thompson, WR, Folsom:

Thompson can break open games on deep “go” routes, but he also makes big plays on short routes.

Trey Udoffia, WR/DB, Del Oro:

Udoffia came up big in the Golden Eagles’ 22-15 victory over Vista Murrieta with two long touchdown catches and a game-winning 55-yard interception return for a score.
