Bee Best: Sione Noa of Grant wins Bee Prep of the Week

Sione Noa is proof that playing multiple sports pays off beyond the experiences with his school and teammates.

The Grant High School senior is a 6-foot-3, 215-pound star edge rusher headed to Fresno State via football scholarship, packing a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average. The Noa name is well known on campus and in Del Paso Heights over the decades, and Noa also has a following in the spring trac and field seasons.

Noa won the Metropolitan Conference championships in the discus at 129 feet and the shot put at 44-9, earning him Bee Prep of the Week honors through fan voting. He generated 12,441 votes.

He was in early 2024 named the National Sports Media Association Sports Writer of the Year for California and he was in the fall of 2024 inducted into the California High School Football Hall of Fame. He is a 14-time award winner from the California Prep Sports Writer Association. In 2021, he was honored with the CIF Distinguished Service award. He is a member of the California Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Davidson participated in football and track in Oregon.
