Exclusive video shows parents fighting umpires after Del Campo baseball game
An exclusive video obtained by the Sacramento Bee shows what appears to be Buhach Colony parents confronting an umpire after Del Campo High School defeated the Thunder 3-2 on the final play in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The video shows a group of parents and two umpires tussling in the parking lot. The group pushes and somebody appears to take a swing.
It was the first of a best-of-three Division lll Sac-Joaquin Section playoff baseball series in Carmichael, where Del Campo is located.
“It’s an unfortunate situation that occurred away from the ball field,” Buhach Colony athletic director Kevin Navarra said. “Obviously it will be addressed and taken care of moving forward.”
Del Campo Cougars coach Kevin Dawidczik told the Sacramento Bee the incident made him “sick to his stomach.”
