Game on: Prep football season kicks off Friday. Here’s a peek at The Bee’s Top 25

At long last, it’s here.

The high school football season in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section kicks off on Friday, including a full menu of games in the Sacramento region.

All games kick off at 7 p.m.

The action includes The Bee’s No. 1-ranked team, Folsom, playing host to No. 3 Monterey Trail. No. 4 Elk Grove hosts No. 5 Granite Bay and No. 10 Del Oro welcomes No. 18 Inderkum.

New school Twelve Bridges in Placer County plays its first varsity game against McClatchy.

Here is a peek at The Bee’s Top 25 rankings and a list of bubble-ranked teams.

Below, is the opening-night schedule, which is subject to change with a shortage of referees. The regional referee association said it hopes that some games will be moved to Thursday or Saturday to help alleviate problems caused by the shortage of officials.
