Bee’s Best: Sutter’s Jagger Beck is The Sacramento Bee’s Prep of the Week

At Sutter High School, the Huskies live to run the ball. Not that they can’t pass.

Jagger Beck can throw it, and he looks the part of intrigue prospect at 6-foot-6 and 195 pounds.

In a 48-7 rout of Wheatland to cap a 10-0 season and the outright Pioneer Valley League championship, Beck completed 12 of 13 passes for 195 yards and three touchdowns, all season highs. And then he kept on winning.

Beck was the runaway choice for The Bee’s Prep of the Week through fan voting.

The Huskies are the No. 1 seed in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division V playoffs and had an opening-night bye on Friday.

Beck has passed for 449 yards this season with five touchdowns while the ground game of a fleet of Huskies runners has rushed for 3,673 yards and 47 touchdowns.
