Bee Best: Lincoln’s Ryan Henning wins Prep of the Week vote

Ryan Henning had a game to remember last week, a regular-season finale with family and friends packed in to see his act.

The Lincoln High School running back did not disappoint. He rushed for a school-record 352 yards on 35 carries and had five touchdowns in a 52-26 Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV playoff victory, and then the senior kept on rolling.

Henning is The Bee’s Prep of the Week voting poll winner, garnering nearly 32,000 votes.

Headed to the Air Force Academy via an athletic scholarship next academic year, Henning has rushed for 1,869 yards and 29 touchdowns this season, heading into Friday’s playoff action.

He has produced his best games in the last month, rushing for 214 yards against Oakmont, 251 against Ponderosa, 252 against West Park and then the 352-yard effort against Natomas.
