The third week of league play and the seventh week of overall action for Sacramento-area high school for the Sacramento area kicked off on Friday night.

When does football weather join the party? Soon, we hear and hope.

The games included:

Top-ranked Folsom visiting No. 4 Oak Ridge in El Dorado Hills in Sierra Foothill League play. Folsom entered with a 21-game winning streak on Oak Ridge, dating back to 2006. The Bee was there.

The Quarry Bowl features Placer County rivals Rocklin, ranked third by The Bee, and nearby Whitney, off to its first 2-0 start in the SFL in program history. The Bee was there.

Christian Brothers visited Woodcreek in Roseville in a big Capital Valley Conference clash, and a rematch of recent CIF Sac-Joaquin Section playoff meetings. The Bee was there.

Needing wins to remain in playoff contention, Pioneer of Woodland visited River City in West Sacramento in Monticello Empire League action. Both are new comers to the longstanding conference. The Bee was there.

In a battle of prolific quarterbacks, Vista del Lago of Folsom visited Inderkum in Natomas as Grant Rogers of Vista and Ricky Cole of Inderkum. The Bee was there.
