Friday marked the final regular-season game on Sacramento-area high school football scene, 11 weeks to squeeze in 10 games with an off-week bye thrown in. The CIF Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs kick off on Nov. 8. And fancy this: After nine weeks of hot practice weeks, the last two have been more fall-like, worthy of a hoodie.

On Friday? Driving rain pelted games, from Yolo County to El Dorado County and points between.

The Bee’s Joe Davidson on Sunday at 1 p.m. on a free NFHS live stream will co-host with section assistant commissioner Will DeBoard the CIF’s football bracket release.

Friday included three league championship bouts:

Monterey Trail visiting Elk Grove in a battle of Elk Grove Unified School District programs for the Delta League banner. The Bee was there.

In Orangevale, the host Casa Roble Rams played the Sutter Huskies to decide the Golden Empire League crown. The Bee was there.

In Yuba County, the host Wheatland Pirates hosted the Oakmont Vikings of Roseville for the Pioneer Valley League championship.
