Grant to host Beyer on Monday in football game postponed after shooting

The Grant High School football team will host Beyer of Modesto at 5 p.m. Monday in a makeup of a Sac-Joaquin Section Division II playoff opener that was postponed after Friday’s shooting death of a Grant player before the scheduled game.

Jaulon Clavo, a senior and starting cornerback, died after a shot fired into the vehicle in which he was riding struck him in the neck.

Grant students and others from the North Sacramento community gathered Saturday to grieve the loss of a young man most knew as JJ.
