Player of the Year selections reflect great performances in 2015-16

The hard-hitting, sweet-fielding Fines sisters from Sheldon High School and Elk Grove’s all-everything slugger-pitcher Dylan Carlson not only excelled individually in 2016, they also led their teams to championship seasons.

Those accomplishments made Jordan and Maci Fines and Carlson clear choices to be The Sacramento Bee’s Players of the Year in high school softball and baseball.

The picks were the latest in a school year of athletic excellence that began with selection of prep football Players of the Year and All-Metro Teams, through boys and girls basketball honors and up to baseball and softball seasons.
