Marshall Chapman earned Bee Prep of the Week accolades from the first week of high school football action for his ability to set a team rushing tone and reach the end zone, as voted by readers and fans.

Ben Moreno was the winner of The Bee’s Highlight of the Week poll. 

Chapman rushed for 163 yards and two touchdowns to help power Placer past Pleasant Grove 48-21. A senior, Chapman is among the 17 starters returning from a 13-2 team that reached a CIF State championship game.

Moreno, in his first football game, booted a 20-yard field goal as time expired to lift Antelope past Rocklin 24-22.

The junior is a starter on the Antelope soccer team who came out for football this season with soccer starting in the winter season.
