Video: El Camino’s dramatic last-second shot to beat Rio Americano
Sometimes the best way to punctuate a rivalry game is to end it with dramatic flair, something to last more than just the week, or month or season. Perhaps a lifetime.
That played out in a Capital Athletic League boys basketball game on Jan. 21 between host El Camino and Rio Americano.
El Camino junior guard Anthony Escobar grabbed a loose ball as time was running and hoisted a corner three-point shot against tight defensive coverage, draining it as the horn sounded, for a 65-64 double-overtime victory.
