Astros All-Star broke a young girl’s heart. He got his chance to make things right
Moments after the Houston Astros won their first World Series rings, one of their All-Stars had some jewelry for a special person in his life.
Shortstop Carlos Correa proposed to his girlfriend, former Miss Texas USA Daniella Rodriguez, while giving a post-game interview on the field Wednesday following the Astros’ 5-1 victory in Game 7 at Dodger Stadium.
The joyous celebration didn’t go over well for one young fan.
“Carlos Correa broke my heart,” said the girl, identified by Houston’s KPRC-TV as 4-year-old Scarlett Sanchez.

Correa tweeted the video, saying his “heart is melting” and that he wanted to meet her.
On Tuesday, that meeting took place.
The staff at Houston’s NBC affiliate welcomed Correa and Scarlett to the station’s studio to let the two meet. Scarlett was held by Correa and even got to give him a kiss on the cheek.
Correa told the station he was glad he could meet her, then thanked all Astros fans for their support.
