Watch dramatic video showing demolition of Las Vegas hotel and casino to make way for A’s

The iconic Tropicana hotel and casino in Las Vegas was imploded Wednesday to make way for the new MLB stadium for the Athletics.

After 67 years, the famous hotel closed its doors for good in April. On Wednesday, it was given a wild farewell party, with fireworks and a drone show. After the buildings came down, the drone show lit up the skies with a display that said “A’s” in the team’s color green.

The A’s will relocate to West Sacramento beginning in 2025 as the team transitions into its planned move to Las Vegas. The A’s will move to Sutter Health Park, home of the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats, for three seasons.
