A’s announce select 2025 games will air on local TV in Las Vegas. Which ones?

The Athletics aren’t planning to move to Las Vegas until their new ballpark is completed in 2028, but they will start broadcasting games there in 2025 while they play their home games in West Sacramento.

The A’s announced Wednesday they will air 15 games in Las Vegas that will be simulcasted locally on KVVU-TV FOX5 beginning with that day’s 12:35 p.m. game against the Seattle Mariners.

The televised games will be produced by NBC Sports California and will be presented by Silver Slate Sports & Entertainment Network, the team said in a news release.

FOX5 and SSSEN will also begin airing a weekly show with A’s news, highlights, analysis, interviews and features. It will be hosted by FOX5 broadcasters Kevin Bolinger and Mike Davis.

The A’s have yet to formally schedule a groundbreaking for their new stadium they hope to open in 2028. Plans initially called for breaking ground in April, but those plans have since stalled.

The club had land-use permits cleared for approval by the Clark County Commission in early April, with team president Marc Badain saying the team is on track for a June groundbreaking.

“Locally, everybody knows this project’s going to happen,” Badain said, according to the Associated Press. “Nationally, there are a lot of skeptics. There will always be a lot of skeptics. There’s a lot of people that make a living out of questioning the success of sports venues and what they actually do for a community. You’re never going to eradicate that negativity. It’s just out there.”

The A’s are also planning to open an “Experience Center” at UnCommons in Las Vegas to offer fans an interactive look at the new stadium, the team said in a separate news release late last month. It’s set to open this fall.
