Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista’s hard slide sparks bench-clearing brawl

After Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista was hit with a pitch, he slid hard into second base on a ground ball.

Texas second baseman Rougned Odor took exception and went after Bautista, punching him in the face. A melee ensued. It took nearly 10 minutes for umpires to restore order. The incident likely stems from Bautista’s bat flip in last year’s American League Division Series between the Jays and Rangers.
