The Sacramento Kings will not only be a bigger team but will also make history today when 7-foot-5, 360-pound center Sim Bhullar plays at Sleep Train Arena as the first player of Indian descent on an NBA roster.

The Kings signed Bhullar to a 10-day contract. He is expected to play tonight’s game against New Orleans. If you haven’t seen him in action, take a look here:

Bhullar played for the Kings’ summer league team in Las Vegas and was on the training camp roster. He has played 39 games this season for the Reno Bighorns, the Kings’ NBA Development League, averaging 10.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.8 blocks in 25.8 minutes.

In this video, Bee columnist Ailene Voisin talked to Bhullar about his progress with the Kings D-League affiliate, his conditioning and how he likes to block shots the best.
