Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has been ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Kings after entering NBA health and safety protocols.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported the news shortly after 3:30 p.m. as the Lakers (11-11) were preparing to face the Kings (8-13) in a 7 p.m. game at Golden 1 Center. Charania added James will be sidelined for at least 10 days or until he returns two negative COVID-19 tests 24 hours apart.

James was listed as questionable on the team’s injury report due to a rectus abdominus strain, the same injury that caused him to miss eight games earlier this month. James was considered questionable for Friday’s game against the Kings as well, but he logged 50 minutes in a 141-137 triple-overtime loss at Staples Center.

James, a 17-time All-Star and four-time MVP, has appeared in only 11 games this season, averaging 25.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.8 assists. He had 30 points, seven rebounds and 11 assists against the Kings on Friday. The Lakers are 4-7 in games James has missed.
