The Kings have been most prominently linked to trade talks involving the Philadelphia 76ers and more recently the Indiana Pacers, but the Detroit Pistons are another team to watch.

The Pistons (10-33) will make their annual stop in Sacramento when they face the Kings (18-28) on Wednesday at Golden 1 Center, but this might not be the last time these teams hear from each other before the Feb. 10 NBA trade deadline.

Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer reported Tuesday that Pistons forward Jerami Grant has attracted trade interest from about a dozen potential suitors, including the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Portland Trail Blazers, Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards, Kings and Pacers. Sources told Bleacher Report the Pistons are seeking two first-round picks or one first-round pick with a high-upside player in exchange for Grant.

Grant, 27, is a 6-foot-8, 210-pound forward who came out of Syracuse as the 39th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft. He is averaging 20.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists this season. He averaged a career-high 22.3 points in 2020-21.

The Kings and Pistons collaborated on a deal at the trade deadline last season when the Kings sent Cory Joseph and two second-round picks to Detroit for Delon Wright. The Pistons reportedly have interest in Kings forward Marvin Bagley III, but they turned down a deal involving Saddiq Bey last season.

Haliburton out again

Kings guard Tyrese Haliburton will miss his second game after entering NBA health and safety protocols on Sunday. Haliburton, a Rookie of the Year finalist last season, is averaging 13.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 7.1 assists.

Bagley is back

Kings forward Marvin Bagley III will be back in the starting lineup against the Pistons on Wednesday after missing Sunday’s game against the Houston Rockets due to right shoulder soreness. Bagley has appeared in 25 games this season, averaging 9.1 points and 7.3 rebounds.

Grant still sidelined

The Pistons said Grant and Luka Garza are still out due to health and safety protocols. The Pistons will also be without Killian Hayes (hip), Frank Jackson (reconditioning) and Isaiah Livers (foot).
