De’Aaron Fox was a late scratch due to an unspecified ankle injury when the Kings opened a five-game road trip against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday. The 24-year-old point guard’s status is still in question as the Kings prepare to face the Boston Celtics on Tuesday at TD Garden.

The Kings are listing Fox as questionable against the Celtics due to left ankle soreness. Center Damian Jones is also considered questionable because of left ankle soreness. The Celtics will be without Bol Bol (foot surgery) and P.J. Dozier (ACL surgery), but otherwise they are healthy.

The Kings (18-30) have lost three in a row and eight of 10 to fall 12 games under .500 with less than three weeks to go before the NBA trade deadline. They are three games behind the Portland Trail Blazers for the final play-in berth in the Western Conference and 3½ games ahead of the last-place Houston Rockets.

The Celtics (24-24) are coming off Sunday’s 116-87 victory over the Washington Wizards. Jayson Tatum had 51 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists in that game, going 18 of 28 from the field and 9 of 14 from 3-point range.

Metu doutbful

The Kings have added Chimezie Metu to their injury report for Tuesday’s game against the Celtics. Metu is listed as doubtful due to left knee soreness. The 24-year-old forward is averaging 8.9 points and 6.0 rebounds this season.

Fox, Metu ruled out

Interim Kings coach Alvin Gentry said Fox and Metu have both been ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Celtics. Fox will miss his second game in a row with an injury the team has described as ankle soreness.

“It’s no big deal,” Gentry said. “If this was a playoff series or something, they would be playing, but it’s precautionary measures and stuff.”
