Source: Kings acquire DiVincenzo, Jackson, Lyles; send Bagley to Pistons in 4-team trade

Kings general manager Monte McNair made another big move three hours before Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.

A league source told The Sacramento Bee the Kings have agreed to send Marvin Bagley III to the Detroit Pistons in a four-team trade that will bring Donte DiVincenzo, Trey Lyles and Josh Jackson to Sacramento. Details of the trade were first reported by The Athletic and ESPN.

The news came 48 hours after the Kings made a blockbuster trade to acquire Domantas Sabonis, Justin Holiday and Jeremy Lamb from the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield and Tristan Thompson. Sabonis, Holiday and Lamb made their Kings debuts in a 132-119 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday at Golden 1 Center.

DiVincenzo, Lyles and Jackson will likely join the Kings on their upcoming road trip. Sacramento will visit the Washington Wizards on Saturday, Brooklyn Nets on Monday and Chicago Bulls on Wednesday before the All-Star break arrives.

“We are pleased to bring Donte, Josh and Trey here to Sacramento,” McNair said in a written statement when the trade was officially announced. “Adding shooting, defense and versatility to our team are very valuable as we continue to build. We would also like to thank Marvin Bagley III and wish him all the best in the future.”

Kings forward Harrison Barnes and center Richaun Holmes were also the subject of trade speculation, but both remained with the team after the deadline. A league source told The Sacramento Bee the Kings worked right up until the deadline, but there were no more trades in the queue.

The Kings had to release two players to make room for their newest additions. Sources told The Bee the Kings had notified Jahmi’us Ramsey and Robert Woodard II they will be waived.

DiVincenzo, 25, is a 6-foot-4, 203-pound shooting guard who averaged 7.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 17 games for the Milwaukee Bucks this season. DiVincenzo started 66 games for the Bucks in 2020-21, averaging 10.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists while shooting 37.9% from 3-point range.

DiVincenzo missed the start of the season after undergoing offseason ankle surgery. The Kings nearly acquired DiVincenzo in a sign-and-trade deal for Bogdan Bogdanovic in November 2020, but the trade fell apart amid tampering allegations against the Bucks. DiVincenzo, who is earning $4.7 million this season, will be a restricted free agent this summer.

Jackson, 24, is a 6-8, 207-pound shooting guard who came out of Kansas as the No. 4 pick in the 2017 NBA draft. He has played for four teams in five seasons. He had his best year with the Pistons last season, averaging 13.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists. Jackson is making $5 million this season. He will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Lyles, 26, is a 6-9, 234-pound power forward who came out of Kentucky as the No. 12 pick in the 2015 draft. He averaged 10.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in 51 games for the Pistons this season. Lyles is making $2.5 million this season with a $2.6 million team option for 2022-23.
