Watch: We break down all the storylines behind Sacramento Kings’ No. 4 pick in NBA draft
Sacramento Bee sports editor Jim Patrick sits down with Kings reporter Jason Anderson to break down all of the plots surrounding the team’s No. 4 pick in the upcoming NBA draft on July 23.
Jabari Smith Jr. (Auburn power forward), Jaden Ivey (Purdue shooting guard), Shaedon Sharpe (Kentucky shooting guard) and Keegan Murray (Iowa forward) are just some of the names mentioned in the video conversation as potentially coming to play in Sacramento.
Also, Patrick and Anderson talked about players on the roster who could be dealt to another team for somebody who might help the team make the playoffs next season after a 16-year post-season drought.
“There are a number of different scenarios that could unfold over the next couple of weeks,” said Anderson, who covers the Kings for The Bee. “They could keep the pick and select the player that they think best suits them at number four. They can and certainly will look at their options to trade either up or down, just to figure out what makes sense. This is a team that wants to make a big jump next year to make the playoffs after 16 consecutive losing seasons, and they’re looking for somebody who can really help them now. There are a number of ways they could go here. They could take the best player available in the draft, or it’s a possibility they might look elsewhere and maybe try to package the pick to bring in more of an established veteran player who brings maybe some more all-star potential to the roster.”
The video above includes a look at the players in the picture and highlights.
