Former Kings guard Donte DiVincenzo signs free-agent contract with Golden State Warriors
Donte DiVincenzo’s days in Sacramento are officially done.
The free-agent guard reportedly agreed to a two-year, $9.3 million contract with the Golden State Warriors on Friday. The deal includes a player option in the second year, sources told The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
DiVincenzo became an unrestricted free agent this week when the Kings declined to tender a $6.6 million qualifying offer, which would have made him a restricted free agent, giving Sacramento the right to match any offer he received.
DiVincenzo, 25, is a 6-foot-4, 203-pound guard who came out of Villanova as the No. 17 pick in the 2018 NBA draft. He spent three-plus seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks and started 66 games for the 2020-21 championship team.
The Kings acquired DiVincenzo at the February trade deadline in a four-team trade that sent Marvin Bagley III to the Detroit Pistons. He appeared in 25 games for the Kings, averaging 10.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists.
The Kings moved quickly to replace DiVincenzo over the first two days of free agency. They signed former Charlotte Hornets and Los Angeles Lakers guard Malik Monk to a two-year, $19 million deal on Thursday. They acquired Kevin Huerter on Friday in a trade that sent Maurice Harkless, Justin Holiday and a protected future first-round draft pick to the Atlanta Hawks.
