Kings rookie Keegan Murray is expected to make a full and speedy recovery after undergoing wrist surgery.

Murray underwent a minor surgical procedure to clean out loose bodies in his right wrist, league sources told The Sacramento Bee. Sources said the procedure is not expected to affect Murray’s rookie campaign, noting he has already resumed shooting drills using his left hand.

Murray, a 6-foot-8, 215-pound forward, came out of Iowa as the No. 4 pick in June’s NBA draft. He is coming off a successful summer in which he led Sacramento to a 3-0 record at the California Classic and won the Las Vegas Summer League MVP award.

Murray averaged 23.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 steals over four games in Las Vegas. He shot 50% from the field, 40% from 3-point range and 80.8% at the free throw line.

Murray posted the highest summer league scoring average by a top-10 pick since Damian Lillard in 2012. He was the only player to average at least 20.0 points per game while shooting 50% from the field and 40% from 3-point range.

Murray was equally as good at the California Classic. He averaged 19.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 0.7 blocks and 0.7 assists in three games, shooting 51.1% from the field and 43.8% from 3-point range.
