2. Phoenix Suns (3-1)
Last week: 5
The Suns are winning behind Devin Booker, who is averaging 32.5 points, 5.8 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 53% from the field and 48% from 3-point range.
3. Cleveland Cavaliers (3-1)
Last week: 17
Donovan Mitchell already has three 30-point games for the Cavs, including a 37-point performance in an overtime win over the Wizards.
4. Memphis Grizzlies (4-1)
Last week: 6
Ja Morant has posted three 30-point games already. He had 49 in a win over the Rockets and 38 in a win over the Nets.
5. Portland Trail Blazers (4-1)

The Blazers went 4-0 to start the season, but they could take some losses with Damian Lillard expected to be out at least a week or two with a right calf strain.

The Knicks have won three in a row since falling to the Grizzlies in overtime on opening night. They will visit the Bucks on Friday.

Everyone expected Utah to tank for Victor Wembanyama, but Collin Sexton, Jordan Clarkson and Lauri Markkanen haven’t gotten the memo.

Bradley Beal and Kyle Kuzma helped the Wizards win three of four, but the schedule will get more difficult next week.

Jayson Tatum is emerging as an early frontrunner for MVP. He had 35 points in a season-opening win over the 76ers and 40 against the Magic.

The Mavericks lost two of three to start the season, but Luka Doncic had 41 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists in Thursday’s win over the Nets.

The Hawks have beaten the Rockets, Magic and Pistons with another game against Detroit on Friday, but then the competition picks up.

Anthony Edwards, another player with three 30-point games, might be ready to level up after averaging 21.3 ppg last season.

Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet and Gary Trent Jr. led the Raptors to wins over the Cavaliers, Heat and 76ers.
