Report: Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James likely to miss game against Sacramento Kings
The Los Angeles Lakers might be missing their biggest star when they play host to the Kings on Friday night at Crypto.com Arena.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported Thursday that four-time MVP LeBron James is doubtful against the Kings due to a left adductor strain. James could also miss Sunday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, which would give him eight days to recover before the Lakers play the Detroit Pistons on Nov. 18.
The Kings (4-6) have won four of their last six games with two controversial losses to the Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors. Sacramento posted its most impressive win of the season Wednesday at Golden 1 Center, beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 127-120 despite a 38-point performance from Donovan Mitchell.
The struggling Lakers (2-9) have lost four in a row to fall to 14th in the Western Conference. They are coming off a 114-101 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Lakers have been outscored by an average of 16.0 points per game during their current losing streak.
James is averaging 24.9 points, 8.8 rebounds and 6.9 assists in his 20th NBA season. Anthony Davis is averaging 23.0 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
