Under new management: Kings’ De’Aaron Fox leaving Family First to join Klutch Sports Group
Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox is under new management.
Fox is joining Klutch Sports Group after parting ways with longtime trainer Chris Gaston and Family First Sports, according to ESPN 1320’s Damien Barling, Kenny Caraway and James Ham.
Klutch has become a force in sports representation since it was founded by NBA agent Rich Paul in 2012. The agency represents NBA stars such as LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Zach LaVine, Dejounte Murray, Ben Simmons, John Wall and Trae Young.
Fox, 24, came out of Kentucky as the No. 5 pick in the 2017 NBA draft. In his sixth season with the Kings, he is averaging 25.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 6.0 assists while shooting career highs of 54.8% from the field, 37.5% from 3-point range and 83% at the free-throw line.
Fox is in the second year of a five-year, $163 million contract after signing a max extension with the Kings in 2020. He will earn $30.4 million this season, $32.6 million next season, $34.8 million in 2024-25 and $37.1 million in 2025-26.
