The Kings will put their six-game winning streak on the line when they open a three-game road trip against a Memphis Grizzlies team that could be missing its two leading scorers Tuesday at FedExForum in Memphis.

Grizzlies star Ja Morant is listed as doubtful after missing Sunday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets with a Grade 1 ankle sprain. Desmond Bane has already been ruled out with a right big toe sprain.

The Kings (9-6) have won six in a row and nine of 11 to climb to fifth in the Western Conference. The Kings are riding their longest winning streak since the 2004-05 season.

Sacramento’s last seven-game winning streak also came during the 2004-05 season. The Kings haven’t won eight in a row since November 2003.

The Grizzlies (10-7) have lost three of their last four. They are coming off a 127-115 loss to the Nets. They’ve won seven in a row against the Kings dating back to February 2021.

Morant is averaging 28.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 7.1 assists for Memphis. Bane is averaging 24.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists.

Morant upgraded

The Grizzlies announced Tuesday morning that Morant has been upgraded from doubtful to questionable. Getting Morant back would be a big boost for Memphis. He had 22 points, five rebounds and six assists in a 125-110 victory over the Kings on Oct. 27 in Sacramento.

According to the Daily Memphian, Morant participated in the team’s morning shootaround just four days after spraining his ankle. Asked if he heals like an alien, Morant said: “A cyborg. I’m just a unique dude, man. I don’t think I’m human. I got to do some lab testing or something to see what is really behind it. The league is doing the same. I have a drug test right after this.”
