Kings-Jazz gameday live: Will Kevin Huerter, Malik Monk play? Collin Sexton ruled out
Note: Come back to this story throughout the day for the latest news, notes and injury updates on today’s game.
Backcourt depth could be an issue for both teams when the Kings visit the Utah Jazz to conclude a brief two-game road trip.
Utah has already ruled Collin Sexton out for Tuesday’s game at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City. The Kings are listing Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk as questionable.
The Kings (19-16) will be looking to bounce back after suffering a 118-108 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday. They may have to do so without the services of Huerter and Monk, two of their biggest offseason acquisitions.
Huerter, Sacramento’s starting shooting guard, is questionable due to upper back soreness. He is averaging a career-high 15.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists.
Monk, the team’s top reserve, is questionable due to right shoulder soreness. He is averaging a career-high 14.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists.
The Jazz (19-20) has lost four in a row, including a 126-125 loss to the Kings on Friday in Sacramento. Sexton, who is averaging 14.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists, is expected to be sidelined for at least a week due to right hamstring injury maintenance.
G League callups
Guard Keon Ellis and forward Chima Moneke will join the Kings in Salt Lake City for Tuesday’s game against the Jazz, a league source told The Sacramento Bee. They will then remain in Utah with the G League Stockton Kings for Wednesday’s game against the Salt Lake City Stars.
