Highlight reel: The night the Kings clinched playoff spot for first time in 17 years

With a blowout 120-80 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday, the Sacramento Kings will enter the Western Conference playoffs for the first time since 2006, ending the longest playoff drought in NBA history.

The highlights from the night were numerous.

Kings forward Keegan Murray scored 13 points and made three 3-pointers to set the NBA rookie record with 188 treys in a season.

NBC Sports California’s Kayte Christensen shared emotional thoughts on air just moments after the team finally clinched a playoff berth.

De’Aaron Fox scored 18 points, Kevin Huerter added 17 and Domantas Sabonis put in 15.

The Kings hadn’t qualified for the playoffs since the 2005-06 season.
