First look at Kings star De’Aaron Fox’s signature shoe with Under Armour’s Curry Brand

Under Armour’s Curry Brand is expected to release Sacramento Kings star De’Aaron Fox’s first signature shoe this fall.

The first images of the shoe surfaced Monday when Sneaker News revealed exclusive first-look details of the Fox Curry 1, which is described as low-cut and runner-esque with a mid-foot strap. The logo features a distinctive symbol with a fox curled up to form the letter D. The logo will reportedly “carry (Fox) throughout his signature shoe journey.”

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry’s last name appears on the lace tips and toe. The shoe will also feature Under Armour’s proprietary Flow cushioning foam. Sneaker News reported the foam is similar to the full-length Flow platform in Curry’s own signature shoe.

Fox and Curry were scheduled to depart Tuesday on a weeklong Under Armour promotional tour of China with the start of training camp just three weeks away. The two NBA stars have developed a unique relationship on and off the court in recent years.

The Warriors defeated the Kings in a memorable seven-game playoff series in 2023. The Kings eliminated the Warriors from the play-in tournament last season.

The Sacramento Bee first reported Fox was on the verge of signing a signature shoe deal with a major brand as the Kings prepared to play their season opener against the Utah Jazz last October. The formal announcement came a day later when Under Armour and Curry confirmed Fox was the first NBA player to sign an endorsement deal with the Curry Brand.

“Like Jordan Brand did with Nike, Steph is doing with Under Armour, and I’m the first person to be a part of that,” Fox told The Bee. “Some players wouldn’t want to be the first, especially under an active player, but for me, I think it’s more like I’m helping him build his brand, but also he’s helping me build my brand, so I feel like it’s great for both of us.”

Fox has emerged as one of the league’s most dynamic players since coming out of Kentucky as the No. 5 pick in the 2017 NBA draft. He made his first All-Star appearance and earned his first All-NBA selection in 2022-23 while leading the Kings to the playoffs for the first time since 2006, ending the longest playoff drought in league history.

Fox averaged 26.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 2.0 steals and 3.6 deflections last season, establishing career highs in points, rebounds and steals. He was eighth in the NBA in scoring, first in deflections (269) and tied for first in steals.
