On 916 Day, Sacramento Kings unveil Classic Edition throwback uniforms and Fan Fest plans

In celebration of 916 Day, the Sacramento Kings on Monday unveiled a new throwback uniform, plans for Fan Fest at Golden 1 Center and theme nights for the 2024-25 NBA season.

The Kings will wear a Classic Edition uniform for select games to mark their 40th season in Sacramento. The jersey, worn from 2002-08, is a vibrant purple with “Sacramento” across the chest in white lettering. An “SK” logo, which was a staple of the team’s brand from 1994-2014, is featured on the right side of the shorts.

The Kings will debut the Classic Edition uniform when they face the Brooklyn Nets on Nov. 24 at Golden 1 Center. The jersey will be available for purchase beginning Oct. 1 at the Label K team store and KingsTeamStore.com/Classic.

“As we celebrate 40 years of the Kings in Sacramento, we are excited to pay tribute to our city and the unforgettable moments we have seen on the court while looking forward to what is to come,” John Rinehart, the team’s president of business operations, said in a news release. “Fan Fest serves as the first opportunity for fans to see our new squad as we start another thrilling season of Kings basketball.”

Fan Fest

The Kings will host their annual Fan Fest and open practice Oct. 20 at Golden 1 Center in collaboration with the DOCO Block Party. These events are free for fans of all ages, although tickets are required for Fan Fest admission. Complimentary tickets can be claimed now at Kings.com/FanFest.

Beginning at noon, fans encouraged to attend the DOCO open-air celebration, which will feature live and DJ music, interactive games and activities, community pop-up experiences and more. At 1 p.m., Kings season ticket holders and Golden 1 Credit Union members will have early access to the arena for Fan Fest. Doors will open for the general public at 1:30 p.m.

Fan Fest will include numerous activities and interactive experiences. Fans will have an opportunity to interact with mascots Slamson and Dunkson as well as team personalities, including Scott Freshour, Scott Moak, Kayte Christensen, Kyle Draper, Morgan Ragan and Deuce Mason. The Kings will cap the event with an open practice featuring skills challenges and a rookie talent show.

Kids ages 6-14 can participate in a Jr. Kings youth basketball clinic from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Golden 1 Center. Spots are limited and are available for purchase at Kings.com/JrKings.

Parking for a special $5 flat fee will be available in the DOCO West Parking Garage (325 L Street) with entrances on L Street and 3rd Street.

The Kings will recognize the diversity of the Sacramento region with various heritage and cultural celebrations on theme nights throughout the season. Some of the theme nights will include:
