DeMar DeRozan, Malik Monk and Domantas Sabonis injury updates for Kings vs. Hawks game

The Kings will be missing some key players when they wrap up a four-game homestand against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.

All-NBA center Domantas Sabonis was listed as doubtful on the team’s injury report Sunday as he continues to deal with lower back tightness. Forward DeMar DeRozan (back) and Malik Monk (ankle) have been ruled out for Monday’s game.

Sabonis missed Saturday’s 121-117 victory over the Utah Jazz after experiencing what coach Mike Brown initially described as back spasms in an overtime loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. DeRozan missed the past two games, also due to lower back tightness. Monk has missed the past four games with a right ankle sprain.

Monk was injured in an overtime win over the Phoenix Suns on Nov. 10. The following day, the Kings said he would be reevaluated in two weeks.

Sacramento has been missing a lot of firepower with DeRozan, Sabonis and Monk sidelined due to injuries. De’Aaron Fox is doing all he can to carry the team, scoring a franchise-record 60 points against the Timberwolves on Friday and 49 in Saturday’s win over the Jazz.

The Kings will have three days off following Monday’s game, which could give DeRozan and Sabonis time to get healthy for Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

DeRozan is averaging 22.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists while shooting 52.6% from the field, 40% from 3-point range and 85.9% at the free-throw line.

Sabonis averages 20.2 points, 12.5 rebounds and 6.6 assists. He is shooting 64.1% from the field, 40% from 3-point range and 84.7% at the free-throw line.

Monk averages 12.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists. He is shooting just 44.2% from the field and 27.9% from 3-point range, but the Kings miss the energy, playmaking and scoring punch he provides off the bench.
