De’Aaron Fox plays first game for San Antonio Spurs after trade by Kings. How’d he do?
Former Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox played his first game Wednesday since being traded to the San Antonio Spurs, helping his new team to a last-second win over the Atlanta Hawks.
Fox led the Spurs in scoring and assists, with 24 points, 13 assists, five rebounds and three steals. With the game tied at 125-125 Fox found new running mate Victor Wembanyama rolling to the basket with seconds remaining. Wembanyama was fouled on a dunk attempt with 2.1 seconds left and made one of two free throws to give San Antonio the 126-125 win.
Fox scored 12 of his 24 points in the second quarter. He finished the night 11 of 22 shots and going 2-of-7 from 3-point range. Wembanyama also finished with 24 points.
Fox’s first win as a Spur ended roughly half an hour before his former team, the Sacramento Kings, tipped off against the Orlando Magic at Golden 1 Center, where Zach LaVine made his Kings debut.
